AFRO GERMAN ART celebrates the rich artistic output of young Afro-German creatives. The exhibition showcases multifaceted representations of profound stories and perspectives from talented artists, musicians, and designers of African descent who call Europe—particularly Germany—their home.
With a proud and independent gaze, the exhibition highlights how African cultures are evolving within Europe and forming new connections with existing traditions. Powerful narratives and unwavering creative expression define the works of the participating artists.
The exhibition offers a layered interplay of diverse artistic forms: a multimedia spatial installation by SELASSIE, delicate object works by Curtis Santiago, and paintings by Carlos Carima. A comprehensive photo series by Nelson Ndongala expands the exhibition’s visual spectrum. Emerging jewelry designer Kiala Kanzi captivates with a deeply personal presentation of her pieces, while Candy Zuckerschock explores the tension between fashion and art in a strikingly unconventional way. Another sensory layer is added by sound artist Chelo, who enriches the exhibition acoustically with a live DJ set.
AFRO GERMAN ART invites visitors to directly experience the emerging young Afro scene in all its creative diversity.
