Join the “Community Paint and Quilt Project” workshop for free!
The workshop will be held in German & English
As part of the program for the exhibition “Democratic Encounters: Harare & Munich,” Fépar – Living Room for the BIPoC Community and Friends – has been invited to lead this interactive workshop alongside curators Sophie Eisenried from HABIBI KIOSK and Zakirah Rabaney from Lothringer 13 Halle.
Children, teenagers, and adults are all warmly welcome to paint expressive patterns inspired by personal stories and lived experiences. Drawing inspiration from the work of Zimbabwean guest artists from Artist in Residence Munich, Grace Nyahangare and Gresham Tapiwa Nyaude, participants will create their own textile paintings. These pieces will later be stitched together into a collaborative community quilt.
The finished quilt will be presented on Thursday, June 18, at 7:00 PM as part of the “Democratic Encounters: Harare & Munich” exhibition. Fépar will also feature the quilt at future events, including the “Summer Community Picnic & Sound” at Lenbachhaus’s “Bunter Garten Ciao” on Saturday, August 1.
As spots are limited to 20 participants, prior registration via email to workshops@lothringer13.com is required.
